## Winning a CTF From the Middle of the Ocean
The Knowledge House and Bloomberg ran a CTF hackathon this past weekend. I competed from a boat.
I was mid-ocean when it started, which should have been the end of it. Starlink said otherwise. So while my team worked from wherever they were, I worked from open water with a satellite link and a laptop.
We ran as PwnShop Prodigies. We took first place with a perfect score.
The event was well built. The first thing you noticed was that the start button itself was part of the challenge, which tells you exactly what kind of weekend it was going to be. If you couldn't figure out how to begin, you didn't begin.
Ocean quiet on one side, code breaking on the other. Strange combination. Worked better than it had any right to.
