BioTech Entrepreneurs w/ BWISE

Recently spent an awesome day at Georgia Tech attending this event called “Innovation Unscripted – Starting a Biotech Company.” It was all about the ins and outs of kick-starting a biotech business, and man, was it insightful!

First off, shoutout to the stars of the show: Dr. Ted Love, Dr. Tia Lyles-Williams, Brad Hartman, and Dr. Raheem Beyah. They were the real MVPs, sharing their wisdom, experiences, and some good laughs.

A total eye-opener for me was discovering how many modern medicines are designed with a specific ethnic group in mind. And, would you believe the genome project mainly focused on one particular group? I was like, “Wait, what?!”

Now, let’s talk about Dr. Tia for a second. She was a powerhouse! I loved how she showed up as her full, authentic self. And Brad? Kudos to him for wearing his heart on his sleeve, especially with so many eyes on him. It’s not every day you see someone being that open and vulnerable in front of a huge crowd.

Honestly, the whole vibe was just right. Everyone kept it real, informative, and super engaging. It wasn’t just some stiff, formal event. It was a blend of deep insights, fun moments, and genuine interactions.

I left feeling super charged, enlightened, and, well, just grateful to have been a part of it.
